What are evaporative coolers?
Evaporative coolers (also known as swamp coolers, desert coolers or wet air coolers) cool air simply by evaporating water. Evaporative coolers draw hot air through damp, wet pads, and as water evaporates from the pads, the air temperature drops and the fan blows the cold air throughout the space. Compared to refrigerant-based cooling systems, like air conditioning units, evaporative coolers hold two major home improvement advantages: cost and air movement.
Each COOL-SPACE product is environmentally friendly, running on water and a single phase electricity supply only. This makes each system cheaper to run than a comparable AC unit. COOL-SPACE products contain an 8 inch cooling medium, and depending on the relative humidity, can lower the temperature by up to 28°F!
The wet pads also have the benefit of filtering out dust and pollen, allowing for cleaner blown air to fill your space. In a traditional air conditioning system, the same air is reused and recirculated in the space, creating stale air.
